“Dedication is more important here, so people have to work hard and learn the technologies.”

Lavanya just secured her first ever job here in New Zealand and it’s thanks to her time with us!

She has just landed a job as a test engineer, and we couldn’t be happier for her!

We caught up with her to ask about her time with us and if she had any advice for people in the same situation.

First of all Lavanya, congratulations on your new job as a test engineer! What was your background before joining Industry Connect?

Thank you. I didn’t have any experience before! I completed my Masters in 2013 and after that I got married and moved to New Zealand. This is my first job in New Zealand!

How was your internship experience at Industry Connect?

It was a great experience, I learned a lot of technology and a lot of new knowledge and had good people around me.

I didn’t know where to go or where to start, I wanted get a job in a software company, but I didn’t know what to do. You guys created a nice way to help me learn the job.

I started with zero knowledge in software testing and after training I had a basic idea of the industry. After that I entered into MVP Studio as an intern.

During the internship I got nice teammates too, who helped me with the work. We discussed the projects and problems together and helped each other.

These are the things that made me feel great.

Would you recommend Industry Connect to others?

I would surely recommend Industry Connect to people who are passionate about IT and software. Dedication is more important here to go with the job, so people have to work hard and learn the technologies.

These are the things that helped me land my new job as a test engineer.

Thank you Lavanya, and good luck in your new career!
