“I never gave up, until finally, I got a job.”

Chandni is the latest of our graduates to find a job and launch her career in IT!

She has just secured a position as a BI data analyst thanks to her time with us.

We caught up with her to ask if she had any advice for people thinking of joining Industry Connect.

Congratulations on landing a job as a BI data analyst! Tell us, what was your background before you joined Industry Connect?

My overall experience was very good, but when I came to New Zealand I wanted a career change and I had no local experience.

So I saw on Google about an internship and I found Industry Connect and MVP Studio, so I joined the internship and started working on the tasks and projects.

I had some difficulties, yeah, but I had support from my colleagues and mentors and the MVP team members.

I started applying for jobs after completing the projects, and initially I didn’t get a response, but I kept continuing to apply and I never gave up, until finally, I got a job.

That’s a fantastic story. What would you suggest to people who want to get into the industry?

Try MVP and Industry Connect so you can have a real experience, like how companies work, in any field, whether it’s data testing or whatever.

It took me around 5 or 6 months to find a job, so keep applying and modify your CV and Cover letter based on the job requirements.

What’s the difference between being a student and an intern?

It is of course somewhat different. You apply the same concepts, but when you have to perform it practically, then you get to learn how it works. The scrum updates and how you can connect with team members.

Well thank you for your time Chandi, good luck in your new job as a BI data analyst!
