“You really start putting more effort into the whole process. It was a really great experience actually.”

Great news from our office in Adelaide, with Karanbir Singh finding a job as a software developer after joining Industry Connect!

We caught up with Karanbir before he started his new career to ask about his time with us and if he would recommend others joining Industry Connect.

First of all Karanbir, congratulations on your new job as a software developer! What do you think of the Industry Connect initiative?

Yeah, I think it’s a great initiative, because for people like me who came directly from graduating, there are many places you can go, you know professionally, but you don’t get the real-world experiences, you don’t get to see the technologies being used in the industry today.

Initially joining with Industry Connect it was great, I came across all these modules I was going to study, and I thought that was really practical. That gave me the hope that this could be something that was worth spending my money and time on, so that’s one of the reasons I went for this originally.

Awesome. How did you feel about the training at Industry Connect?

They were great actually, yeah, I learned quite a lot. One of my teachers taught us SQL and stuff at great length, real in-depth understanding of this process and the concepts. That was great actually, and the thing is, if you are struggling with something, you can just shoot off an email and they will respond as soon as they can.

That was really special, it meant I could go to someone and ask if I was struggling with something and get some help. That really boosted energy levels, you really start putting more effort in to the whole process. It was a really great experience actually.

Would you recommend Industry Connect to others?

Yes, definitely, I’ve already told a couple of people that are struggling. I’ve said go to Industry Connect and they will help, and they’ve said after they graduate, they will definitely look into it. So yeah, I would definitely recommend Industry Connect.

Well thank you Karanbir, and good luck in your new job as a software developer!
