How was your journey with Industry Connect?

It was great. When I started my Internship with Aimy it really got me into the software lifecycle. You’re getting tasks and sometimes you struggle but it’s all part of the process.

You’re not ever going to go into a job and know everything. There’s a lot of research and personal development just through coding and getting better at it. The research skills and using the initiative to actually find out what the problem is and finding a solution has helped me a lot. So now I feel confident that if I get stuck with a problem it’s not hard to find the right solution and I won’t get disheartened.

C# is an in-demand language in the New Zealand Software Market and learning this has definitely put me on the right path.

I found the team and resources were so good to tap into when doing the internship. There was a lot of help.

I think that some of the main things are to stay motivated and curious about things that you’re asked to do. The other thing I would say that is important is to get involved with everything from the stand-ups, scrum meetings as it’s just like in a real work environment.

Would you recommend Industry Connect to everyone?

I would not have got this job without Industry Connect, there’s no question about it. It definitely puts you on the right pathway and everyone else that has got a job can vouch for that too. It definitely works. I 100% would recommend Industry Connect
